Come hear from Kim Stagliano, a mother who has been through it all ... raising three girls with autism! Somehow Kim is able to get through it and still maintain an incredible sense of humor about life. Her "Kimoir" as she calls it, will be coming out November 1st. Kim will be speaking in NYC on Wednesday, November 10th at 6:00p at the Rebecca School, 40 East 30th Street.

www.ageofautism.com, the nation's first daily web newspaper about the autism epidemic. She writes for the
Huffington Post, is on the editorial staff of

Enter starting tomorrow to be entered in a drawing for a copy of this great book.
I would LOVE to read this book.
Sorry I didnt leave my tip for other parents, Take it day by day and always think positive!!
Also my favorite resource is Autism Society or others that have experience.
My favorite autism tip is using coconut oil to cook with. It is antiviral and antibacterial and fights yeast. Use it with garlic to make savory dishes (like fried rice) or use it as a butter/oil replacement in baked goods to offset the yeast feeding of the sugar. It is also great for the thyroid. Weston Price uses 2 teaspoons in the infant formula. It's an simple think to try to help with biomedical problems some kids with ASD are having.
Spend time with small children. It can be helpful when you can see how "typical" kids are developing. It really helps to have a perspective of how much our kids have not done versus how much they have accomplished! I think we tend to conform to each nuance of our child and we need to break out of this box. It is easy to stay stuck when you have no perspective from being with typical kids. We need to learn and guide our kids.
The winner is Tracy Goodwin! Try again next week - we will be giving away another copy of this book for posts from 11/8 to 11/12. They should be on Kim Stagliano's talk on the 10th in Manhattan, the book or why Kim is awesome. Thanks.
The winner of our second drawing for a copy of "All I Can Handle: I'm No Mother Teresa" by Kim Stagliano is Lacey Wilkerson! Congratulations!
